Furever Endeavour Rescue Network, or “FERN” for short, is a registered and insured non-profit society founded in December 2022. The home base of our rescue is a stunning fully fenced 5 acre property located at the foothills of the Beaufort Range in Port Alberni. It’s an oasis of nature, calm vibes and opportunities. The property hosts multiple separately fenced areas as well as an enormous fully renovated adoption center with kennels.
FERN’s goals in a nutshell: help dogs who need rehoming, open our doors to homeless and abandoned animals, work with remote communities who might be struggling with overpopulation and collaborate with other local rescue organizations to build an effective and compassionate network. BC dogs are our focus, with a preparedness to assist nearby provinces as needed. As we develop, we anticipate welcoming other species who may cross our path, for example farm animals or small critters in need of sanctuary.
Our philosophy is simple: kindness and respect above all. This reflects in the way we interact with animals and humans. Volunteers, fosters and partners are a vital aspect of our society, so they deserve our utmost appreciation. We have a wonderful group of supporters who have been cheering us on since the start of our journey and we're looking forward to reaching many more animal enthusiasts! You can read more about us under our “FAQ and resources” page.
